Equinox Festival was founded in 2018 by Jean-Hee Lee and Emma Steele, who wanted to gather friends from around the world to play music at fun and informal concerts in Copenhagen.

Since then Equinox has made a commitment to programming a diverse and gender-balanced roster of composers. We celebrate the overlooked, with lesser-known, rediscovered, and newly-written masterpieces. Often, many of the works at our concerts have never been heard in Denmark before.

The festival is also a dance laboratory. Here, dancers and musicians share the stage in new creations, adding touching and magical moments to every concert.

Evenings at Equinox have an informal and friendly atmosphere, where all are welcome to bring their family, enjoy a drink in the bar, and chat with the artists in the interval.
